Is there a way to have an e-mail sent to the calendar administrator when someone posts an event awaiting approval?

If this is not possible, can you add this to the list of future enhancements as I think many calendar administrators would really like this!

Thanks,

Paul

Good news - this feature is available. Very Happy When you edit a calendar's settings, there's a "special options" tab. One of those options is "email on event add/change". This lets you get email when people post events for approval.

Please let me know if you have any problems using this feature.

This feature does not work!!!! In spite of putting my e-mail address in the appropriate box!

FYI: I tried the event reminder using the 'send an e-mail reminder right now to see if it's working" and that did work.

Thanks,

Paul

Are you putting an "add:" or "update:" or "delete:" before your email address like this?

add:abc@xyz.com

The "help on this" link has some more details on what this is for.

Sorry it's not quite straightforward.

Nope. So are you saying that if I want adds, updates, AND deletes for each event, I must put in my e-mail address THREE times - once for each type action????

Paul

FOLLOW-UP: Just added all three actions with my e-mail address to that box. Then added an event without a password. Let's see if that works!!!!

OK. And you are right because the instructions imply that you only need to do this is you want only (a) certain type(s) of e-mail notification!

Thanks,

Paul

OK, on Tuesday evening I entered my e-mail address three times and then exited my calendar. Then reopened my calendar and added one event without a password. Calendar said there was an event awaiting approval.

As of Wednesday, I have yet to receive any e-mail about events awaiting to be approved!

So I guess it's not quite working correctly!

Thanks,

Paul

Hm, that's unfortunate. I double-checked this functionality with the latest version, and it appears to work for me.

What's the URL to your plans installation? I'll be happy to take a look.

Looks like you have a space between the "add:" and your email address. I don't think Plans handles that correctly (that should probably be considered a bug).

Try removing that space...

That did it! I got an e-mail reminder. I don't think that is really a bug, but maybe you should be explicit in the help on that item: "Ensure there are no spaces before or after the ":"
That should take care of the problem!

However, once I clicked on the e-mail reminder, I got a screen with the event on it, but nothing else. No place to click to approve or disapprove the event! I think there should be something there as less savy calendar administrators may not know where to go from there! I know right now I'm not sure how to proceed, but will open the calendar and manually approve/disapprove the event.

Thanks,

Paul

OK, I just received several e-mails about (test) events awaiting approval.

When looking at my inbox e-mails, I noticed the sender's e-mail address was 'your_address@domain.com' or something to that effect! I guess there must be a placed to change that to read something useful??? Where?

Thanks,

Paul
