Are you installing Plans for the first time, or upgrading?

When you upgrade, the next time Plans runs, it checks its version against the version number in plans_lang.js. If they're different, it re-generates plans_lang.js from the current us_english.pl (or whatever language you're using).

To do this, it needs write access to plans_lang.js.

You can prevent this from happening by manually editing plans_lang.js and changing the version number at the top to match the version in plans.cgi.

i checked plans.lang.js and it seemed to have a version of 7.4.11 i think i manually changed it to 7.5.5 and it still gave the same error message from diagonstics.

Darn, I thought that would work.

Can you try giving plans_lang.js writable permissions (similar to the xml files)?
