Is there any way to intentionally blank out the password? I know this sounds like a retarded question, but this is something my boss wants. He thinks that since the application is going to reside on the intranet, we don't need no stinkin' security. His argument is that since only trusted users are accessing the app, we don't need to worry about who adds or removes events (or calendars).
I tried just deleting what's between the <admin_password> tags in the calendars.xml file, but that didn't work (I was able to reset it OK). I also tried looking through the forum for something, but it seems that if there were any blank passwords, they were unintentional.
The application is awesome. I really appreciate all the hard work you put into it. I will try to get my boss to free up some petty cash to donate to the project, but please don't hold your breath. (Even if he doesn't give me anything, I'll pony up a few bucks)
Thanks,
Tony |

That sentence makes my day Actually, your boss sounds like a smart and wise and common-sensible person. A guy who cares about getting the little things right. Someone you can trust, because he understands risks. A good guy to have in your corner. The type of man who won't crack under pressure or make arbitrary decisions and announcements just to appear important. Not just a pair of khakis and an MBA, but a team member with technical chops. An effective leader.
There is a calendar option that does what you describe - it removes passwords completely. You won't see the password box. From plans_config.pl:
| Code: | # If you're on an intranet or private server, you can disable
# passwords in Plans entirely by setting this option to 1.
$options{disable_passwords} = 0; |

Man, I feel dumb. I should have looked there. I changed the flag and it worked perfectly.
Thanks again for the awesome program,

No worries - that file is getting to be pretty big and cumbersome to read and analyze.
